Established in 1947 by WB “Bill” Hunter, the company of WB Hunter P/L has undergone constant growth to become a leading player in the rural industry. Today, we have eight stores located throughout northern Victoria and southern New South Wales, with our head office based in Shepparton, in the heart of Victoria’s Goulburn Valley. We are a 100% Australian owned and operated company, and pride ourselves on the service we offer our customers. We employ over 100 staff from our local communities, and support the local community not only through employment, but also through sponsorships and other support.

All of our eight branches are members of the National Rural Independents (NRI) buying group; this group buying provides us with a competitive edge in retailing our rural merchandise items, allowing us to provide competitive pricing to our customers. In addition, our Shepparton store is a member of Mitre 10, and our Yarrawonga store a member of Home Hardware. Due to these partnerships, we can provide a huge range of hardware, timber and trade supplies to our customers, while accessing the best prices offered through these groups. Furthermore, our current range of rural products is also complimented by a huge range of pet products, accessed through the Indepet buying group. Most importantly, this huge range is delivered with expert service from our store staff as well as a team of rural staff in the field.
